The Portfolio Headshot
These sessions are designed for new and experienced models, actors, entertainers etc to update their portfolios and online profiles. Sessions are quite short, usually around 30 minutes, but depending on how much content you require, sessions can last up to 1.5 hours. I will take a range of different crops and poses to give plenty of variety for you to choose from. Just starting out? No problem! There is absolutely no experience required. I will be directing you through many poses throughout your session.
Most images you see on this page of my website have been fully retouched with a fine art contemporary or painterly style of edit. Images supplied for Model Portfolios are very lightly retouched. Images lightly retouched will include colour grading and removal of any skins blemishes that wouldn’t normally be there. Most agencies want you looking like the same person they see in your portfolio to what they see in real life ie: no skin smoothing. I do offer a retouching service in the cases where you will not be supplying these images to an agency and will be using them purely for your own personal use. Please see additional costs below.
When you are making your enquiry or are wanting to book, please advise whether you wish to have your session captured in studio (Highton home studio) or in an environmental location of your choice, or perhaps you may want to do both. Again, please see below pricing and product for additional costs which you may incur.

STAGES OF RETOUCHING

RAW - STRAIGHT OUT OF CAMERA
This image above is a RAW image or SOOC (straight.out of camera). It means the owner of the image (myself) has not done any post processing. You need to have specific photographic software, in order to view and edit a RAW file. No client will receive an image in this form.

LIGHT RETOUCHING
The light retouching stage generally consists of colour grading and removal of any blemishes to the skin that are not normally there.
This image gave the appearance of a double chin, this is rectified at this stage.
If there is anything visible on the clothing, such as lint for example, this will removed.

FINE ART - CONTEMPORARY STYLE
Colour grading remains the same at this stage.
The retouching on the image is more refined. More emphasis on refining the shadows and highlights round the face, blending them in to give a more smooth gradual appearance.
Editing around the hair and also neck lines. Skin is lightly smoothed but still maintaining texture.

FINE ART - PAINTERLY STYLE
The previous retouching is carried out to get to this stage, but there is more emphasis on creating a work of art, something reminiscent of a painting if you will.
The colour grading may be changed to that of something similar to the image shown above. If this is the outcome you desire, I highly recommend you enquire about having your file printed as online viewing does not do the image any justice.
